Sanitary Conveyor System from Dorner Helps Wisconsin Cheese Packer Improve Ergonomics and Packaging Efficiencies

Who knew that a few inches at work could make all the difference?

It may not seem like a lot, but for employees packaging cheese on a tray line at Alpine Slicing & Cheese Conversion, those few inches were noticeable from the repetitive motion of reaching out and grabbing packaged cheese trays. So when it came time to expand its contract packaging services by adding a second tray line, the company was looking for new ideas to improve upon this process…and they found the solution through an adjustable sanitary conveyor system from Dorner Mfg.

Sanitary vs. Stainless Steel Conveyors

Know What You’re Getting Before You Buy

By John Kuhnz
Vice President, Engineered Solutions Group, Dorner Mfg.

There are many factors that drive food processors to upgrade their conveyor systems to a more sanitary platform. Leading the charge is

Transfer between Lines with Pop-up Conveyors

The conveyor shown in this video is moving blocks of cheese. Dorner provided two lines of conveyors for this operation that moved the cheese from towers where the cheese is formed and extruded into 40 lb. blocks, to where the block is packaged and boxed.

Recirculating Products

When moving products down a manufacturing line, there are places that can backup and cause the entire line to slow or shut down. To solve this problem recirculating conveyors can be installed on those sections of the line. This can help protect products from damage and reduce jams. These systems can be in a variety of configurations to suit multiple different applications.
