The annual Pack Expo at McCormick Place in Chicago drew thousands of attendees, and it seemed most everyone spent at least a little time in the Dorner Booth!

Not only was it a great time to talk with our customers, we demonstrated the dramatic 10’ high, 32’ long Z-Frame conveyor display. The display was actually two Z-Frame conveyors: a 5200 Series Dorner’s Innovation “Packs” a CrowdQWIK Z-Frame and an AquaPruf 7400 Series Z-Frame. The two conveyors formed an 8’ x 8’ overhead entryway that moved product continuously from one side to the other.

The 2008 Pack Expo was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who stopped by.

No Challenge Is Too Big For Dorner

Click to View LargerA California-based nursery grows lettuce and other produce above ground through a process called hydroponics. Instead of nutrients in the soil, plants grown hydroponically thrive on a nutrient water solution that contains all the minerals the plants need.

At harvest, employees remove lettuce from the growing troughs and pick away leaves from the head that are discolored.

Carrying away the discarded leaves for disposal is demanding because of the tremendous amount of debris, but this is just the kind of nonstop application for which the AquaPruf 7400 Series was engineered.

Durability
The AquaPruf 7400 Series is durable for continuous use, yet designed for daily wash-downs. Continuous TIG welding of the 304 stainless steel frame provides strength and eliminates fasteners in the food zone. This creates a more sanitary environment.

Ease of Cleaning
The AquaPruf 7400 Series is built with a durable, stainless steel frame with minimal horizontal surfaces to eliminate collection points where loose food scraps can get trapped.

Ease of Disassembly
The AquaPruf 7400 Series can be completely disassembled by just one operator in as little as three minutes to speed up the cleaning process.

As the customer explains, “It’s been a really great conveyor for us. If our applications call for additional conveyors we’ll definitely consider going with another Dorner.”

7600 Ultimate Receives European Hygienic Compliance

Click to View LargerThe European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) has developed strict guidelines for hygienic equipment design used in open processing. The organization evaluates construction materials, surface finish and roughness, hygienic construction design, and drain ability.

After careful review, the Danish Technology Institute, a member of EHEDG, issued Dorner the compliance certificate. This certification provides international food manufacturers with the confidence of knowing that the 7600 Ultimate is in hygienic compliance with Europe’s recognized standard for equipment design.
