Meet Joanne

For Order Entry Specialist Joanne M., every day at Dorner presents new and exciting challenges. Since starting here 22 years ago, she has always enjoyed the fast-paced nature of working in manufacturing. “I like the variety of the different obstacles and challenges we meet daily.” Starting at Dorner as a receptionist, Joanne split her time between reception and the customer service department before shifting full-time into order entry.

Being in order entry, Joanne sees firsthand the many different applications Dorner’s conveyors are used on, and she enjoys helping to make the ordering process as smooth as possible for each customer. “Our conveyors go to many manufacturing plants from food to medicine, pet products, and much more. There’s such a variety of products that run on our conveyors.” It’s great to be a part of a company whose products and services touch various industries. 

Recently, she has been working on a massive project updating Dorner’s customer database to ensure the information is accurate and current. Businesses are continuously evolving, and their needs are constantly changing. Dorner’s customer service department must meet the challenge of our customers’ ever-shifting requirements head-on. Joanne reviews the customer database daily to verify notes, customer preferences, and contact information while removing old and outdated data. This ongoing project helps make the order entry and customer service process quick and easy and helps Dorner continue to be easy to do business with. 

While Joanne enjoys the challenging work at Dorner, it’s the team she works with that has kept her here all these years. “I really like working with the team and how when one person learns something, we share it with everyone.” It’s about working together to ensure everyone succeeds as a team, and the customer service department certainly does that! 

In Joanne’s eyes, the conveyance industry will continue growing and developing new technology to help manufacturers meet consumer demand. It has been exciting to see all the new products Dorner has built over the years, and she can’t wait to see what’s next.
