Behind the Conveyor – Team Spotlight
Dorner has become a global brand in conveyor automation – and that’s all thanks to our team. In this blog series, we highlighted talented professionals whose dedication and passion are making a positive impact on your conveyor systems. These are the faces behind the brand who are helping to transform conveyor automation … and having fun doing it!
Meet Jason
From his first impression of Dorner as a high school co-op student to now as one of the company’s many long-standing employees, Senior Mechanical Engineer Jason K. has always found enjoyment in solving problems.
“It is very rewarding when you see something that you created, whether it’s a piece of art or a bracket, it all came from your head,” he said. “I started out in high school. I worked my way up from the bottom; I was the guy making copies and prints, and now I design multi-million-dollar systems. I’m pretty satisfied with how things have turned out.”
Jason has watched the complexity of Dorner projects evolve throughout his 30-year career. He began his tenure with Autologik, Dorner’s former automation-focused sister company. He eventually shifted over to Dorner, where more complex, integrated conveyor systems have become more popular with customers. It is these types of solutions that really motivate Jason and his team.
“Our solutions group is really tight-knit, and we all do a lot of stuff outside of work together,” he said. “It seems like I always push for it because when you have a bunch of friends you are working with, you tend to do more for them. Everybody gets along well. It is enjoyable to come to work and hang out; we know each other’s families and it makes for a better environment.”
